After the Steve Jobs debacle, I'm not sure how much stock I put in limited release numbers foreshadowing eventual box office but this seems solid but not spectacular for Spotlight. A weekend PTA in the $60,000 range.

Perhaps I will check it out. I was thinking of maybe the Timothy Dalton bond films, because I really like the actor. are those ones any good?

To me his didn't felt like a Bond movie. Plus they do not explain certain behaviours, reasons for.... (IMHO)

The Dalton Bond movies are basically almost sequels to the Craig Bond movies. Bond has the same gritty edge and no nonsense attitude. It was the wrong fit for that era, 25 years too soon basically.

28M with 5.25 midnights means a 22.75M true Friday number. Looks like around a 72-74M weekend depending on the Saturday bump.

Redfirebird2008 predicted this on page one.

Looks like comparing Spectre's midnights against Rogue Nation's midnights to figure out the weekend was spot on.

Jesus Christ guys, have a little faith. I loved it.

Not sure if I like it better than Skyfall but I'll put it above SPECTRE (which is still pretty awesome in my book)

Well... Guess I'll watch QoS just so I can say I've seen all the Craig Bonds

Poor Sony.

They need Bond way more than WB.

They will always have Hotel Transylvania franchise. After the Amy Pascal, email, and "The interview" scandal, Sony is fast becoming the sorriest studio in Hollywood with no real franchise in their hands. Jump Street & RoboCop? Surfs & Meatballs? Men in Black and Ghost Rider? Spider-Man with Marvel presiding over everything and probably lion share of the profit?
