It is not about it being a problem, it is about the Quote wouldn't be big surprise given the fact that china market has expanded twice in just past 4 years~ of @titanic2187 = twice for Chinese market, but way less for foreign movies I guess the ppl moving to the urban regions still take their viewing customs to a degree with them, see the Chinese board, the market grew fastly (actual it grows more 'normal' = not fast), but that does not count for foreign films with the same percentages, unusual influence into the foreign numbers can happen too (see frauds for certain tentpole films (as they had to reach certain admissions for a local film) in the past, but still), the foreign films grew considerable less then a lot of ppl expected a few / 4 years back. Lots of local movies too, competition (as in many movies) grew and so on Not saying foreign didn't grew (hmmm I might start a question about % in the Chinese board here), just not twice in 4 years. Seems to be especially counting for CBMs... Edited November 13, 2016 by terrestrial

In worldwide returns, it has out-Hulked The Incredible Hulk ($263M), Captain America: The First Avenger ($371M) and Thor ($449M). It will next squash Ant-Man ($520M). DS... has already topped the overseas lifetimes of Hulk ($129M), Cap 1 ($194M), Iron Man ($266M), Thor ($268M), Iron Man 2 ($310M) and Ant-Man ($339M). At current rates, and in overseas plays, Doctor Strange continues to track 37% ahead of Ant-Man, 34% bigger than Guardians Of The Galaxy, 27% above Thor: The Dark World and is 25% more fit than Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The international drop-off was just 48% this frame, with a 50% dip in China. The Middle Kingdom remains the top dimension for the Strange and Ancient Ones at $83.5M — a healthy tonic in the saggy market. The global IMAX cume for Doctor Strange now stands at $54M; international markets generated another $6.6M this frame with $3.5M from China. They write more to come, to refresh...
