stripe
Neither Scott nor Miller will miss the nom. If someone surprisingly falls from the list, it will be McCarthy or McKay replaced by Haynes or Spielberg.
MovieMan89
Ugh, Sicario is bugging the shit out of me for predictions. I still feel like it could be in for a ton of big noms or it could just as easily score a sound nom and nothing more.

Agreed. Let's not forget: The Dark Knight, Inception, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo all missed Oscar after DGA. What do all of these movies have in common... The Panda
Visual Effects nominations Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature “Furious 7” “Mad Max: Fury Road” “The Martian” “San Andreas” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature “Bridge of Spies” “Everest” “In the Heart of the Sea” “The Revenant” “The Walk” Outstanding Visual Effects in an Animated Feature “Anomalisa” “The Good Dinosaur” “Hotel Transylvania 2” “Inside Out” “The Peanuts Movie” This probably means Ex Machina is out of contention, as is Jurassic World. Nominees are likely Star Wars Mad Max The Martian Revenant Walk
filmlover
Meanwhile, the Razzie nominations announced, and they're as irrelevant as ever: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/36th_Golden_Raspberry_Awards How in hot hell did Aloha completely miss? I made the mistake of watching the movie on Starz recently and Cameron Crowe realy should be charged with crimes against humanity because never before in history has so much talent been wasted within a single space. Why there's not a best drama? Because drama is always seen as best picture. Would Critic's Choice voters select Spotlight as best film if TBS or MMFR wouldn't had their own category to be rewarded? We can say whatever we want against Oscars, but at least there's only one category like that: Animated film. And because of that category, we have not seen as a BP contender gems such as Inside Out. Jake Gittes
Best Documentary is like that too. There's no reason, say, The Act of Killing shouldn't have been nominated for Best Picture, but "Best Picture" is without exceptions seen as "Best Narrative Feature". The Panda
Yeah, I am mixed on those constellation prize awards. I like them because they recognize different genres and mediums, but I don't like that they kind of say only dramas can be the best.
