Next weekend is going to be even more crazy with five new nationwide releases and the H8ful 8 roadshow.

Thing is, the weekdays could well make more than 100mil and the Christmas weekdays could well make more than 70mil. AVATAR's christmas weekdays were actually higher than its first weeks weekdays.

A lot of overseas folks might not understand this, but this really is one of the weaker movie-going weekends of the year. Seriously.

The malls and other stores were batshit crazy yesterday with people shopping.

The same happens in Europe as well. People are going nuts with Christmas shopping.

Studios decide to release movies on this weekend not for their OW numbers, but for thier legs. They sacrifice the OW in favor of getting great legs.

Sisters and Alvin 4 are actually doing fine considering both opened against Jesus.

To be fair that's potentially a 20m+ change in the OW gross. That makes it that much harder to beat Avatar.

weekend 1: $240m

weekdays 1: $100m

weekend 2: $140m

weekdays 2: $60m

weekend 3: $90m

$630m ish sounds resonable by new years. Avatar was at $352m by the end of the new years weekend.  Thats a $278m headstart and when the real race starts. But i think Force awakens can hold on and claim the #1 spot with $800m+
