Comparing with other animated or "family" films that opened in early March (excluding Mr. Peabody & Sherman and Oz The Great and Powerful which opened right before Spring break), Zootopia's Wednesday was -18% from its Monday

Wednesday vs Monday Performance

The Lorax:                          -25% from it's Monday ($2.6m vs $3.5m)

Rango:                               -23% from its Monday ($1.6m vs $2.1m)

Alice In Wonderland:           -25% from its Monday ($6.8m vs $9m)

Zootopia:                            -18% from its Monday ($3.7m vs $4.5m)

It may not have crazy legs, but it's holding great considering Tuesday is getting more and more popular as a movie-going day.

Seems like a good hold to me for a first Wednesday. Hopefully this puts the 50m+ crowd to bed.....

even with an even hold today it will be hard to crack 45m

+200% Friday = 10.878

+85% Saturday = 20.124

-35% Sunday = 13.08

44.0m Weekend

And if a large percentage of kids are out of school Friday then Saturday wont go up that high - but Sunday may not fall as much either.

Panda had $73 PTA yesteday. Most shows would have been empty. Its playing in 2700 theaters !!!!!

I do not understand how it still has so many theaters and generally how Dreamworks films so often get crazy high theater numbers.
