Official Weekend Estimates (Page 30): The Jungle Book - 60.8M (96M OS) | The Huntsman: Winter's War - 20.1M | Barbershop 3 - 10.8M | Zootopia - 6.6M | BvS - 5.5M

hmm.... I think that 1B is really going to be a stretch for both Zoo and TJB - not downplaying either film, but Zoo has no more territories to open in (granted that Japan weekend figure is only 2 days) and I don't think TJB has anything major left either and it hasn't doubled it's opening China gross yet.

Zootopia needs $60m from Japan.

Olive has it doing about another $30m in China (around $130m total - bigger than SW7) because of competition and losing screens

I think TJB has SK, Japan and Hk left per IMDB

Jungle Book still has South Korea and Japan releases left.

Is this because (like Zootopia) you didn't like/love the film as much as other people did?

I'm sensing a pattern of pessimism from some people here.

What are you talking about? lol

Predictions for next weekend:

The Jungle Book: 36.5M

Keanu: 17M

Mothers Day: 9M

The Huntsman: 8.4M

Barbershop: 5.8M

Zootopia: 5M

Green Room: 4.4M

Ratchet and Clank: 4M

The Boss: 3.5M

Batman v Superman: 2.9M

Criminal: 1.8M

Everybody Wants Some: 1.5M

Depending how big Green Room and EWS expand, BVS might not even be in the Top 10.

I doubt it as far as his pessimism. It's not hard to look at the numbers and see that it will be an uphill climb to achieve that particular goal. Zoo is practically at the point of being locked to NOT get 1B unless Japan magically sprouts Frozen like legs. TJB isn't doing the huge numbers in non-asian territories that it needs to do in order to challenge 1B without being a question till the day it does it.
