The movie has no big visual effects moment in the trailers. That is the problem.

You could be right about that... Then lets blame Disney for that also

What could Disney do to correct that  ? Have you seen the movie?

22-25 mill was what i were aiming for

Both Ep7 and BvS were around:  Midnights*12,5=OD

And 250-300 mill yuan were in the cards for a long time.. Its not anymore IMO

Ooookay... but isn't 17M about 120-125M yuan there? W/a similar multiplier, it definitely seems like it will beat 200M yuan at least. And again, don't forget that SW7 and BVS were much less consolidated in China than Marvel movies (although, CW could be that much more frontloaded by comparision, on the other hand). Still, not quite excellent, then, I guess?

Maybe WOM can propel the weekend multiplier and OD a little up.

Amazon says my copy will ship tomorrow, and since there's a distribution center in/near Orlando I could get it Saturday :ohmygod:

I think this will depend on WOM more than other action blockbusters. I don't know how popular Spiderman is in China, but the trailers used him as the money shot as opposed to a giant CGI explosion spectacle.

Number of midnight screenings seem to be a factor:

F7 (Sat): 11,000/7.0%

Ultron (Mon): 7,850/5.6%

Transformers 4 (Thurs): Can't find # of screenings/4.43%

Cap 3: 5,488/3.2%

No wonder the China midnight previews were so low. Hopefully, it expands to more theaters on Friday.

At least you guys are getting a nice steelbook, the US version has a backwards spine, no embossing, and stacked discs.

Yeah, that's kinda true. Though, in all honesty, if we conveniently turn the 41.48x multiplier from the 1.35M midnight to 56M OW of Batman V Superman, and place it on the 2.6M that CW had, that'd still be a 107.8M OW (702.50M yuan). Wouldn't that be good?
