Monday (5.9.16) #s: Cap3: $13.29m / JB: $1.52m

Recommended Posts

The Jungle Book is at nearly 800M WW, and it has yet to open in Japan or South Korea. Meanwhile, Civil War is a lock for a billion if there ever was one, while Zootopia is only 40M to go before it makes it.

And this is before Finding Dory, Rogue One and another potential breakout (maybe Moana?). Disney owns everything, man. They even own you. The fountain for Scrooge McDuck's money has just been found.

Disney is going to have three films that reach 1 billion by the end of this month and Dory and Rogue One later this year.

Does Zootopia have enough juice left? JB probably does, but not sure about Zootopia since it's already opened in every market right?

MD dropped 87.999994%. Anyone know what's the biggest daily drop for a movie in 3000+ theaters? I went back five years and couldn't find a bigger drop.

But still up 4,2% from last monday

There's Turkey left. A minor market, but still should contribute $1-3 million, and that could very well be what is needed.

I had that in mind too, but I don't imagine it being like a billion dollar breakout or something. However, I wouldn't be shocked if did around 500-600M WW, it totally has potential for that, not to mention... Oscar love? Alice 2 will also do around 700M WW, Doctor Strange about 500M, Queen Of Katwe may be nominated for an Oscar or two...

And the scariest thing? This isn't even a "true" year for them. Look at 2018, w/Toy Story 4, Han Solo, Infinity War Part I, Black Panther, The Jungle Book 2, Frozen 2, Gigantic, Ant-Man 2, maybe something like Mulan or Dumbo; and then look at 2019, Star Wars IX, Infinity War Part II, Indiana Jones 5, The Incredibles 2, Captain Marvel, maybe Magic Kingdom... Jesus H. Christ, Disney. Stop. The annihiliation is too much.

Good number for CW. It might still be able to give Ultron a run for it's money if it can hold up well going forward. And great for MD! While its drop was still really steep, the fact that it still increased from last week is impressive. It will be interesting to see how it holds this week.

I'm going to say 15.2M For Tuesday since this is supposed to be Discount Tuesday, right?? It was packed when I saw this today, for IMAX that is..

The best hope is for it to stay flat or nearly flat. Big movies usually drop on the first Tuesday. The second Tuesday we should see an increase.

That's what happens normally.

Looks like a course correcting Monday after the big drop on Mother's Day. Good number still.

Now if it can keep up with slightly stronger weekdays but same pattern as a weekend movie like Iron Man 3 then passing Ultron will be within good reach.

Sounds Good.. Did you stay for the Mid-Credit Scene??

  Reveal hidden contents

I did. But I left before the end credit scene. Couldn't handle the never ending credits.

PS: I don't think you can post spoilers here yet. Don't get yourself in trouble.
