Yeah, hopefully Friday estimate doesn't drop below 21M.

Fingers crossed.

it's a bit unusual though. So quiet today. Not one update from DL or Gitesh or others beside Variety.

Foster's flawless French always surprises me. She has no accent whatsoever.

Which makes her faux Bourgeois accent in Elysium even more bizarre. Wonderful actress, but a bad performance, that one.

Update:

Civil War: low to mid $80m

Money Monster: $4.5-5.5m, $13-15m

The Darkness: $1.5m, $3-5m

Love & Friendship: $30k PTA

The Lobster: right under $30k PTA

That would be a great start for Love & Friendship. The Beckinsalessance has begun!

Oy, tell me about it. What universe did I step into where Jodie Foster gives the worst performance in a trashy sci-fi movie?

Would it actually be a renaissance, though? Her career has been so mediocre so far. A renaissance would be like if Nicole Kidman got another great role, a rebirth after her 1999-2002 Eyes Wide Shut-Moulin Rouge-The Others-The Hours quadruple punch.

Wow. You're right. Holy shit I certainly did not expect/know that at all.

Her French is flawless. And she directed an episode of House of Cards? Screw logic!

I know Panic Room is "minor Fincher" but it's a great ride.

When Fincher does popcorn...

You get Panic Room.  And it's good.  And...smarter than most popcorn.

Maybe not but I love that she's getting these career-best reviews. After being trapped in lame action movies for the majority of those prime years for an actress, she deserves a second chance. That Golden Globe nomination is probably locked, since they sure do love to invite her every year.
