Google does not help.  Need specific URLs. American boxoffice

Well, there might be literally no websites that allow you to bet money on the box office.

Try booking a trip to Vegas or something.

This feels like Labour Day weekend in terms of how soft the box office is.

Or those early September weekends :sadben:

Seriously, if Allegiant were released right now instead of in March it probably could have topped the box office.

Now we can say that but when they scheduled ALLEGIANT last year, look at what potential the weekend had,

TMNT2 55M

ALICE2 28M (following a 60m 3-day)*

APOC 26M (following an 80m 3-day)*

top 3 gross = 109M

* before 3 CBMs doing 330M+ and TJB & ZOOTP doing 340M+, and before meh reception, both APOC and ALICE2 were predicted even higher that my numbers.

Instead of,

TMNT2 32M

APOC 21.5M

ALICE2 10.5M

top 3 gross = 64M

I am still not sure we are in the Summer season. Maybe they switched the schedule and the Summer season was mid February-mid May this year?

RIDE ALONG 2's 91m dom looks great in hindsight. Budget was only 40m.

RIDE ALONG 1 made 135m but that drop off seems just fine after drop offs of NEIGHBORS 2, HUNTSMAN 2, ALICE 2 and TMNT2.

I am gonna be honest, I am far more excited with portuguese box office right now, I can't wait for tomorrow to see how badly TMNT2 bombed here (it might be 4th for the weekend behind X-Men's 3rd weekend and Alice's 2nd weekend lol) and to see how huge is the 5 day OW of Angry Birds, which I think it beat the OWs of Zootopia and KFP3 and if that really happened it is mind blowing.

Hopefully that will tell them something about making better (or at least more interesting) movies. Unfortunately, the divide between the event movie and the midlevel movie will probably grow even more and more and studios will only just throw more money at tentpoles.

Me Before You is going to have some serious legs. My crowd ate it up. There's something artificial about it, that distinctly American way that some films try to manipulate your emotions, but it's entertaining. The old Pygmalion/Pretty Woman formula still works: the rich man teaches the poor girl about the finer things in life, and when she cries at the opera, he knows she can be changed!

Isn't the novel from a British writer and aren't the leads English as well? Maybe the stiff upper lip has had its day.  I googled the movie and on the results page, the Vox review headline from Google News totally spoiled the plot, though given its nature, I understand why the story's being put on blast like that.  Also, saw that Neville Longbottom Matthew Lewis is in it, it's been years now but I still can't believe how that turned out.

Yeah, I was counting on that. It was always gonna be hard to beat that BVS ending, and w/so many bombs to count, it was impossible for me to create a gigantic legs fail post, otherwise the hook of the joke is lost. Comedic analysis is a hard business, bud.
