Wed #s RTH (10.3 Dory -30%| IDR 3.4 -32%)

8% drop today will give DORY 9.6m.

But looking at MINIONS and IO, the Thu drop will be better than last week's Thu drop.

That usually is the case for most movies, especially big openers, as even after the OW the first weekdays also have some front-loading.

Last Thu DORY dropped -3.7%. That will give a Thu of 10m.

So it should do a bit over 10m.

I will go with 10.2m.

Since $9.3-9.5 million ($330.9 million 14-day) sounds like the number based on previous posts, I'd say:

$12.5 million

$16 million

$13 million

$8.5 million

I don't think Dory is going to hit $9m for Thursday.

The drops are all going to be heavy.  3 big new openers and 7pm preview shows ate up a lot of prime showtimes that the previous films were getting earlier in the week.

Wow!  That's pretty stunning.  Does this mean BFG is going to open much stronger than people thought?

it will depend on the movie. Some will get hit harder than others

The mon to wed drop was pretty bad for some close to flat for others with TF opening. But holds for the weekend should be less affected with a sunday evening bump

BFG and Tarzan are actually doing well??

I'm fine with Dory 'only' doing $8 million-ish today if there's some good news for the other 3 releases.

$4.5 million for Tarzan, $3.5 million for Purge 3 and $2.5-3 million for BFG would be refreshing after everything doing so poorly this summer.

He didn't say the other films were doing well. He just said that because they're new releases they're going to be taking away show times and screens from the other films which would in effect cause bigger drops for the films already out.

Is there anyway you can give us some hints at some of the other films too....Im

guessing if Dory dropped about 15%, the other drops were probably even worse than it, right?
