lucas looks sad in every picture because he knows he destroyed cinema.

and how all of the nerds he created have all turned on him like fat, pimple-faced, virginal frankenstein's monsters. that's gotta be a bummer too.

To be fair they devote their entire existence and lives to his ideas and he rewards them with Jar Jar and Hayden Christensen.

That's the biggest troll job in nerd history.

i was just rewatching there will be blood and it got me thinking i've seen a bunch of people here praise '07 as some perfect cinema year but flick through the summer season it's like 90% trash. this summer has been a little better than that i think.

Bourne Ultimatum, Ratatouille, Ocean's 13, The Simpsons Movie were a good bunch. The first two are far better than anything from this summer. And hell, I have great memories of watching TF1 back then.

May 2007 though might be the most massively disappointing month for summer blockbusters ever, both quality-wise and grosses-wise.

That's what you get for devoting yourself to something silly like a sci-fi franchise. That sense of entitlement is the biggest problem with nerds, really. That's why we got these 38 year old dudes FUMING 24/7 over dumb nerd shit.

I wish Nolan had a twitter account and engaged in Twitter wars with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

What if directors had twitter beefs like rappers.

Nolan - "Damn, BFG flopped big time. Time for retirement, homie?"

Spielberg - "Shut yo sorry as up. Your career peaked with TDK."

As opposed to fuming that Chinatown didn't come out last month.

Snyder - "Hey guys, can someone help me to not lose my job at DC and WB?"

Next Nolan and Spielberg unfollow Snyder.

I like it !

I would buy a ton of pop corn.

Inarritu vs Joss Whedon would be great.

Look at other things people devote themselves to:

Over-zelous religion, partisan politics, pretentious art, redundant sports, etc.

Sci fi isn't looking so bad.

Michael Bay: "The BFG simply needed far

more destruction for it to have been a quality film."

Spielberg: "Like your Transformers movies?"

Michael Bay: "At least they made the dough $$$$."
