If any of you played the Winter Game, you have possibly only just got out of therapy from this question. So therefore it is time to bring it back, bigger and deadlier

 

And hey it's late July, it's a good time for mindfuckery.

 

Here are 8 simple questions:

All you need to do is predict a value for each question. Simples...

 

Wait that's no good I promised Mindfuckery and thus Mindfuckery I must deliver!!! But how? Yes of course an insanely, over elaborate hateful scoring system!

 

There are about 25 players who have contributed answers/predictions in some form during the Weeklies part of this game and thus it is possible for a players prediction to place anywhere from closest, to let's say a block of 25th and below. For each question you will score the following points based on how close to the actual total you finished:

 

1st - 2000 points (That is not a typo )

2nd - 1000 points

3rd - 0 points

4th - minus 1000 points

5th - minus 2000 points

6th - minus 3000 points

 

7th - minus 4000 points

8th - minus 4000 points

9th - minus 6000 points

10th - minus 6000 points

11th - minus 8000 points

12th - minus 8000 points

 

13th - minus 10000 points

14th - minus 10000 points

15th - minus 10000 points

16th - minus 12000 points

17th - minus 12000 points

18th - minus 12000 points

 

19th - minus 15000 points

20th - minus 15000 points

21st - minus 15000 points

22nd - minus 18000 points

23rd - minus 18000 points

24th - minus 18000 points

 

25th or lower - minus 20000 points

 

 

(If two people predict the exact same value, the winner will be decided based on who predicted earlier. If any players do not post a prediction they will all gather at the bottom end of the points table for every question.)

 

ABSTAIN, ABSTAIN, ABSTAIN!!! I hear you all cry and I would never take away one's right to abstain.

 

In fact you may choose to abstain from as many or as few questions as you wish all for the low low price of minus 5000 points per question  (Therefore abstaining from all questions will result in a score of minus 40,000  )

 

Oh and one more little extra thing to sweeten the deal, anybody who ends the SOTM with a positive score, will receive a 50000 point bonus.

The 50k is if your total is positive. Its nigh impossible and thus more of a joke than anything. It does make sense but be it 50k or 780m it doesn't really matter.

 

And yeah fucked up is what this SOTM is. I'd recommend straight out abstain for this one.

It is an exercise in damage limitation  You can either choose to take the medium hit of 40,000 points, or go for the questions and hope to soften that blow but also risk losing big at the same time.

 

And as Infernus said, the 50k bonus is if you can manage to stay positive for the culmination of the 8 questions, not per question.  Which as Infernus also said is essentially impossible as you would need to place top 3 for essentially every question.
