Considering it's a Todd Philips movie, I'd be surprised if it was anything but a comedy.

Whether it'll actually be funny remains to be seen.

Every time the trailer plays, my theater audience laughs. From pediatric to geriatric, they're whispering, this looks good. I don't get what was so funny, but I guess people love laughing at Jonah Hill.

She helped to give a bump in franchise. I never said she was the ONLY reason. It's very different.

How'd she help give the franchise a bump when the story that was told in DOFP was the more popular ones and it was a pretty fucking good movie? Pretty sure she was in XA and that went sinking quicker than the Titanic. Where was her bump in the franchise then?

What would qualify as a "mega" opening for Mag 7? Taking the September record?

At the way the year has been going, I think Mag 7 just winning its weekend against Storks would be a monumental achievement. Breaking the record would be a nice first step. That would probably mean 50m OW, which would suggest maybe a 150m total. For a Western opening in September, that'd be fantastic, and a major win (better than Ghostbuster) for Sony.

lol. I see GotG Vol. 2 having a decrease dom. At max, a very tiny increase.

It's possible, but it has everything going for it on paper.  A WoM and DVR hit, absolutely no competition surrounding it, and not having so many sequels and spin-offs attached that will detract from viewers going to see it.

I continually compared GOTG to Pirates when it came out and I think the comparison will apply again here.

Hell or High Water did $18,500 PTA from 32 theaters. Oh yeah, this is going places. Hail Chris PINE!

It is Lionsgate. They will find a way to fuck it up.

XA went sinking because of quality. It wasn't Jlaw who directed neither wrote the screenplay of the movie. BTW, XA had better legs than Civil War LMFAO. Remembering that XA did $380M OS, lower only than X-DofP in X franchise.

Really looking forward to watching this and Florence today, and I'm gonna find my way to get some Blood Father action later this week.

They're doing fine outside of big movies. Café Society is on track to make a better-than-average gross for a Woody Allen movie these days.

And it's not like this was ever gonna make enormous numbers in the first place.
