Well, not much bigger. He'll need a bigger budget for his next movie for sure.

Does he need one though?

He funded most of the movie himself, no? If anything, this shows that he doesn't necessarily need the major studios. He can be semi-independent with more creative control, and make lots of cash while at it.

Who knows if he will be able to do it again but he's shown the ability to come back from the dead a couple times.

It doesn't matter and I don't think Sony is worried.

Movie has already made more than 3 times its budget ( 40 million ) worldwide and it still has China, Italy and Russia. This movie was obviously made to play overseas as it's doing what it needs to do. According to someone from the China thread, buzz is strong.

So, it's fine. Hell, if it performs good in China, perhaps there's a chance RE makes 200 million worldwide. That would be 5 times its budget. You guys can expect a Resident "Regeneration" in the future. I mean, evil always finds its way back. ;)

Or we can get a reboot more like the games. Enough of this Alice bullshit

There isn't a thread for it but it's movie news so I thought I'd stick it here: Lionsgate has moved the Julia Roberts/Jacob Tremblay drama Wonder from April 7 to November 17 (against Justice League).

Suicide imho.

Not really. They apparently moved it to the weekend before Thanksgiving due to really high test screenings, a move not dissimilar to what they did with La La Land. Doubt it becomes an Oscar contender but it could definitely find an audience over the holidays.

It's gonna be hard to find what ever audience is left over after JL.

But if an Oscar push is what they are looking then it's a good move
