Uh beginning to feel a lot like summer already...

At one point before I put the numbers in my derby, I was so tempted to put 200.2M for BatB opening. 

 

That would make March beat July for being the 4th month to have any films opening over 200M.

If this opens to something crazy like 20M in previews, then Disney had plenty of showtimes to accommodate the demand because if I search "beauty and the beast line" on Twitter not that much comes up. A few tweets but no pictures of a line going out the theater. I searched on instagram too. Maybe I'm not seeing it though or reserved seating has changed everything.

I believe this will have great legs.Not only it's a family film and Easter is right around the corner without much competition but also i think it will pull a Fantastic Beasts and bring out the fans of the otiginal in later weekends.

I honestly thought it would do more than mid-teens in previews, anticipationn seemed super insane, Twilight level high! But on the other side it means, that it probably won't be so front-loaded. Amd that's always a good sign for a movie.

I originally predicted $12m-$13m for previews, but I'm betting when numbers roll in, it'll be over $15m.

12-14M seems low, but A) it's early DHD aka the lowball masters, and B) I don't know how frontloaded can this, a Disney family film, truly be, so this is actually kind of uncharted territory to analyse. Plus, lest not forget - the lowball could still become high teens, and JW's previews did 18M ;)
