Agreed the gifs are becoming an issue especially on mobile. Dragging down the site performance a bit.

This may seem like the rantings of an old man but I don't need to wade through 10 pages of gifs to find the 3 or 4 posts on actual box office. If I wanted that I would keep the CC thread bookmarked.

I've long asked for a hide gifs/image attachments thing on Mobile but I realize that it might not be feasible at this time.

 

I love when things go off topic, it makes this forum feel more like a genuine community, but I feel for people who are browsing on mobile.

Honestly I feel like someone(the mods obviously) should keep updating the first page of this thread with the numbers whenever they come out. That should help when you just wanna check the numbers.

It's not about the numbers, it's the discussion that people miss. The ontopic discussion specifically.

You are missing part of the point. We clearly all like to goof off but the whole point of our community at it's core is the numbers. We have a few threads to go if you don't want to focus on that but in general that's how the discussion should go here.

The BATB OW thread was/is completely forgettable not to mention impossible with anyone who has a life (lol) to go through. It shouldn't have been that way and clearly two weeks later much of the same is continuing.

Well, if the first post is edited to let people know in which page the numbers came in(say "pg 15 for Friday est. - pg 19 for RTH's Friday's numbers - pg 24 for Sat est." etc) then people interested in the discussions about them can just hop to that page and read people's reactions to them. That was kinda my idea anyway...

Yeah I get that, but at least hiding gifs will also allow you to scroll to the discussion a bit faster too is all I'm saying. I realize we go overboard sometimes, but there's gotta be a balance between goofing off and numbers discussion. At some point, there's only so much we can discuss.

I agree and I clearly mean the movies associated with those numbers but again the main forum and main weekend thread is first and foremost a numbers thread. Fair? Clearly it can get dry and slow but sometimes that ok for simple organization sake. If we want to F around completely off topic, there is a thread for that we all are familiar with just a bit below this.

It is hard to keep a discussion around box office numbers I have noticed on thread unless the numbers are really bad or reach for the stars.

 

For example if records may go down then the weekend thread will largely focus on the numbers.
