That’s a steeper drop from Wed than I expected.

Apparently Russia did 5M OD, so 27M the rest, -16% from yesterday.

Gonna be tough to get $95m today unless domestic overperforms.

$1 billion in 10 days is looking unlikely 😓

A1 made about $30m on its Friday. At that same rate, IW will be at $37m. OS will need to be about $60m to make it, about a 90% increase from Thurs. Not completely crazy?

very crazy, Friday about 30-60% up from Thursday in OS markets, Russia dropped since just opened.

Have to remember that many places had a semi-holiday of sorts on Monday and that most places had a holiday on Tuesday. Wed and Thu were thus bound to be more subdued. Perhaps today will see a bounce-back.

Yeah, pretty sure it’ll be Sat for it to break the mark.

But hey, record is record.

Well TFA took until Sunday so this will easily do it by Saturday if not end of today.

Gitesh said tomorrow so he meant Sat. That would still be a record 11 days to 1B, besting TFA’s 12 days

Needless to say, first place out of those 6 movies is first place out of all movies in 90% + markets :P

Japan & Mexico are the exceptions that I remember.

What about India?

You probably meant Hollywood movies, sorry.

I totally forgot about India which is a bit embarassing because I am from India :P The Jungle Book is the highest grossing Hollywood movie in India.

The reason I forgot it is because AIW has done absolutely gangbuster business over here and it overtaking TJB is a foregone conclusion. AIW will be the highest grossing Hollywood movie in India by the end of this weekend, maybe even earlier.

Damn, seems the movie is burning up its demand pretty quickly? Drops have been bad since Tuesday.

Tuesday was a Holiday in most countries (basically everywhere but the US and UK) and Wednesday to Thursday drop (32.2M to 27.1M) is -15.8% while that isn't a beautiful drop I wouldn't worry because of that.

If the OS weekend fall below 150M that would be something different.
