Why "Eyez on me over WW's third weekend" and not "Eyez on me OW at #1"? Simple and objective. There's no need to mention WW, a movie which Nova didn't like so much and said it is generic.

...because Cars 3 exists?  Are you being deliberately obtuse?

Plus, All Eyez on Me won't necessarily open to #1 that weekend even if it's above WW.  Cars 3 could potentially open in the 50-60m range, which is a completely different target.

And yeah, it's always more fun to pick a fanboy film as your target because it raises hairs.  It's why I made my BATB club over TDK instead of 500m (and in hindsight I should have stuck with 500m).

Pretty much this. I completely forgot about Cars 3 coming out next weekend (even though I do think it'll disappoint) but my club was more about making things interesting ie putting All Eyez On Me over a fanboy driven film instead of just having it going over a number. It was created to show faith in Eyez On Me.

Apparently it worked because I struck a nerve with some folks.

I actually wanted to write the same Top 3! Those 3 are the Holy Trinity of war. Gosh, I want some historical movies!

Supposesdly there will be an HBO adaption of Kubrick's unmade Napoleon Movie, but for reading I would recommend Andrew Roberts book on Napoleon, and if you can find it David Chandler's campaign's of napoleon

Really showed his military "brilliance" through the Russia campaign.

An unfair point while indeed the Russia campaign was a failure that was more logistical than purely tactical. Nevertheless it was a failure hoever it does not take away from the brilliance of his Italy campaign or Austerlitz, Jena, his campaigns up to and after leipzig where he often won, except for leipzig, while being outnumbered 2-1 or even Waterloo where the battle was incredibly close at nearly impossible odds. Napoleon fought the enitirity of Europe often due to their attacks on him, while he did make mistakes he redefined warfare and defined an era of history

It also reminds me a bit of Batman Begins (only with an inflated OW).  A well-received origin film coming off of mixed predecessors.

Either way, I can see WW becoming the new face of the DCEU, the way Iron Man is for Marvel.

yass, I can already see Queen Gadot demanding $50 million dollar for a cameo in The Flash movie.

Edit: Also, I'm not sure if I should be confused or impressed that people are having a discussion about Napoleon Bonaparte military prowess in a box office weekend thread

Thanks for the recommendations. I was actually looking for some summer reads on the subject :D

RIP Adam West. The first on screen Batman. You shall forever be remembered.

Batman-Yellow-West_ign_1280w.jpg

And arguably the most famous on screen Batman.

Definitely not the first, though. There were several movie serials starring Batman in the '40s.

For Caesar Adrian Goldshworthy's book is pretty good or read Caesar own writings he's mostly fair on himself. FOr ALexander, my favorite, there is of course arrian JFC Fuller( really good), Robin Lane Fox, Theodore Dodge, NGL hammond, and Bosworth

People do this all the time -- it's always more interesting and fun to put a movie as the challenge instead of a number (IMO). Wondy is the current queen of the box-office so it makes sense to challenge her.

Because there's Cars 3 coming the same weekend and most likely taking the #1 spot?

Ok, guys, I forgot about Cars 3. #2 then. But that doesn't change the fact Nova was trying to make WW's performance looks less impressive. Now I can see he realised he was being biased.
