RichWS
I've read the budget being $75M on multiple sites over the past year. All of a sudden, whoops! We got the numbers backwards! BOM is full of shit indeed.

John Marston
That's unbelievable.I understand but it is not like BOM was being supportive of the movie in any article they wrote so I don't know why people are saying they are trying to cover for the movie or something
acab
On Ghost Rider's defence i remember some articles or quotes from the directors back when they were still filming saying that the budget was about 50m. So that 57m doesn't look fake. But it's fishy when it's suddenly switched after the estimates. It's still a big disappointment.Great numbers for Safe House and The Vow. Never saw them coming. I was thinking about 75-80m total for both but they are doing great bussiness. Increadible performance from Journey 2 also. Combined with the huge OS numbers, we will see a third one soon. grey ghost
The studios will never care about true accuracy when it comes to public knowledge of their data. That's the reason most big budget movies have the exact budget of 150 m. They probably pull budget estimates out of a hat.
ky02121
I smell a conspiracy.Article from 2010"The Wrap reports that the budget for thefilm, which had originally stood at $135million, has been cut down to $75 million."http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Ghost-Rider-2-Sees-It-s-Budget-Reduced-By-60-Million-21431.html Edited February 20, 2012 by ky02121

CJohn
135M  Imagine if they ended up making the movie with that ?
CloneWars
GR2 is right in line with expectations. I think the moment since it was announce, this was the OW we were all predicting it to make. I mean, I know there were some fanboyish predicts, but most of us were realistic. There really was no reason to make this film.Anyway, it was expected to flop, so no surprise here.
