hot take is that there's a small chance we may not have a 900 world-wide grosser this summer...DM3 has a 60% shot at 900+ imo.

Spidey and WONDR have 0%.

Looks like

DM3 (890-920)

GOTG2 (860)

SMH (840)

WONDR (810)

POTC5 (785)

EDIT: I thought China was the only market remaining for DM3. But there are 3 more. So 910-940 likely I guess.

DUNKIRK DEBUTED WITH $50.5M

CRAP!  I was expecting higher!!!

More than one third of the weekend gross for Interstellar came from higher-priced premium large format screens. 368 IMAX screens grossed $13.4M for 26% of the total while other PLF screens collected $5.2M, or 10.5%. Nolan has long used IMAX cameras to film parts of his movies.

We are definitely not having any 1B grossers in summer after a long time. Even in the shitty 2014 summer, TF4 crossed 1B.

Dunkirk did really well in India considering it didn't even get a wide release and no language dubs either

India debuted to $2.4M on 417 screens, ranking as the No. 1 foreign film in the market and No. 2 behind a local offering. Dunkirk, however, outgrossed all comps and now sits as the No. 2 highest opening for a Christopher Nolan film (behind The Dark Knight Rises). For Imax, it was the biggest debut ever in the country.

Will TF5 even make 130M now? It needs a 2.5x from this weekend to make it. Will need a dollar theater expansion I think.

Its had some horrid drops

it should reach 130m with dollar expansion and Labor Day

doesn't surprise me it is dropping so much. It is a film that pleases no one.

High School Musical is great and I will defend it until I die.

DM3 flexing its legs, should get to 250M or more unless Emoji turns out to be a monster at the box office.
