A horror film that came out in Early 2016 overseas with that chick from Fear the Walking Dead  Entertainment Studios is releasing it, and after how much we all underestimated 47 Meters Down, I'll give them some benefit of the doubt. I can easily see it doing sub-10M though, especially with the number of horror films surrounding it

60M would be a big win IMO. I just really feel the film will catch on with audiences and be something truly special. We'll find out in a few weeks!

I think Friend Request is rated R too, so that blocks out teens looking for a cheap jumpscare fest. Hell, NONE of September's horror films are PG-13 :jeb!:

most of september releases are R.   It's gonna be crazy.

Damn, you're right. The only releases that aren't R are Home Again and Ninjago. Even the Charlie Sheen 9/11 film is R! Maybe Battle of the Sexes will go wide? That's PG-13.

i also think AM is over estimated. it will already be onlline  when it's released in the us.

That didn't stop X-Men Origins, The Revenant, American Sniper, Hateful Eight, etc. Hell, THB is online in HD now thanks to Netflix Japan, yet I don't think its box office will be affected in any way.

Battle of the Sexes will likely go wide in its second or third weekend (would be surprising if it didn't given the combo of Stone and Carell) but I doubt it makes more than like $20M at best (since I think the movie's gonna get only good but not great reviews).

Yeah, I expect similar numbers and a release plan to Gifted.

My Split prediction was 5M more on both counts, and we know how that turned out :redcapes: I'm really feeling this one.

But split was sooo good. it remains my fav this year.   i can't see mother reaching the general audience. it's too weird looking

Studios have no clue how to schedule movies. Absolutely no clue. The last big PG-13 blockbuster with teen/young adult appeal was SMH!!!

This is probably why Happy Death Day will do 20M+ on OW. Hell, the dearth of PG-13 blockbusters will help Ragnarok out a lot.
