This is probably why Happy Death Day will do 20M+ on OW. Hell, the dearth of PG-13 blockbusters will help Ragnarok out a lot.

Absolutely. Don't forget :sparta:

But split was sooo good. it remains my fav this year.   i can't see mother reaching the general audience. it's too weird looking

To me at least, the trailer doesn't give off the vibe that it's inaccessible to the GA. They're playing up the "FROM THE DIRECTOR OF BLACK SWAN" aspect in the marketing a lot, and that's a film the GA loved with great legs leading up to the Oscars.

Yeah but the Mummy prediction :gold:

TO BE FAIR, I gradually decreased that leading up to release and eventually settled on 68M or so

That didn't stop X-Men Origins, The Revenant, American Sniper, Hateful Eight, etc. Hell, THB is online in HD now thanks to Netflix Japan, yet I don't think its box office will be affected in any way.

good point. but Wolf of wall street which was the better movie according to reviews only made 116M. and that had  leo at his peak plus oscar noms.  60M would be more than good for AM imo

This is actually the lowest box office weekend of any August frame since 1993. Where's that Anna Kendrick "yikes" gif when you need it?
