Looking at box office in past Augusts, this could be the least attended since 1994 as of right now. But should match between 1996 or 1997, if the dailies are ok next week. But 2017 so far it plays like this from September-December, prepare for the least-attended year of this decade.

I think more people probably watched Death Note this weekend than any movie at the Box Office.

that's a movie a bunch of people (yours truly included) hate watched on netflix and then the very same people are gonna be all "uggggh, audiences are so fucking stupid!" when netflix announces the sequel.

That's not a very big jump for Wonder woman, closer to finding Dory than Jurassic world. Probably adds about 7-8m to its pre weekend total, Jurassic world added 12 with a smaller expansion, weird.

I expected something like that 7-8 vs 12 would follow a bit the relative size of the phenomenom (400m vs 650m) while boosted by WW bigger leg and expansion more toward 75 than 60%.

Also WW home video release is here, august 29 on ITunes, could it have some effect or people are not aware really until they see the actual release pop up ?

It does look like we're going to have really strong Sep,Nov and December this year judging from scheduled releases, going to be hard to catch up lost ground compared to last year though.

Hitman's Bodyguard just super leaked online.

Fastest leak this year

Edit: Not a "leak", it was released on Netflix Japan as a 'Netflix Original'

That's interesting,'there's a sign that overseas home rentals are putting out new releases into homes quicker. In the states, movies are coming out to home video more quicker.

Can Netflix get sued for something like this

No, they bought the Japanese rights. Probably Lionsgate asked for a one week difference to the American release date and that was it.

Netflix do this with a lot of films now. That Emma Watson film The Circle came out as a Netflix Original in the U.K. a couple of weeks after the US release.

The Circle had a pretty decent gap between the US and UK; I don't think you guys got it until the end of June where we had it in April.
