BOOYAH SUCKAS
Arnolds highest grossing and arguably best movie, opened with second highest OW of all time and was the first movie to gross over 300m OS. Even today it lives on as one of the most iconic summer blockbusters.

Really crazy to realize Cameron's international dominance dates back that far and was able to drive an R-rated movie to #1. Dementeleus
It was a pretty legendary OW back in the day.
Barnack
Was it just higher than ET first release oversea performance or also above ET including the re-release up to 1991 also ? ET accumulated around 350/360m over of the year's oversea. Edited October 19, 2017 by Barnack

As far as I can tell, until its 2002 re-release, ET had only grossed around 280m or so overseas.
DeeCee
It mostly wasn’t rated R overseas. MPAA!
John Marston
definitely amazing. Also what is amazing is that it is the first movie that had a 100m budget. An R rated sequel to a film that made 38m! The studio must have had utmost confidence
Maxmoser3
Schwarzenwgger’s name started to improve after the success of Total Recall in the summer of ‘90. The original gained attention thanks to cable and home video started thanks to the rise of video stores. And an excellent teaser!
IronJimbo
Glad I got to watch this in cinema (last year), intro was jaw dropping on the big screen. Sorta related... I'm excited for Tim Millers new Terminator. It's going back to hard sci fi. Edited February 2, 2018 by IronJimbo
Lordmandeep
I think some people can complain 90s action movies don't age that well, but this one holds up amazingly. A Classic

I think in the making of stuff of T2 home video Cameron said that the studio basically told him they would give it a go as long as he got Arnold in. I think it means basically the studio had a tougher time coming up with a paycheak big enough to satisfy Arnold, than worrying about the profitablity of the actual movie. John Marston
it's been 30 years! Holy shit!
titanic2187
I really really enjoyed this movie. To me this is like a Mad Max fury road of 1990s with some surprising emotional depth. The only issue I have is the way time worked in this universe. The timeline just doesn't make sense.
Dementeleus
I went bonkers for it when it first came out — it’s definitely one of the most influential movies for me in my life, lol. My love of it hasn’t really ebbed in 30 years either. Edited July 5, 2021 by Plain Old Tele

CaptNathanBrittles
Looks like TERMINATOR 2 was the third highest grossing film worldwide at the time? E.T. ($723m) GHOST ($517m) (Some sources say $505m) TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY ($516m) STAR WARS ($513m)
