It's one of the few times it ever actually worked. It had a strong emotional core, but it also directly tied to the movie's theme of childhood innocence. It felt earned.

I just found out that one of my best friends tried to harm himself.

He is fighting with depression for years and I just don't know what to do. I am so scared for him.

only recent kids movies with imagine dragons were Kung fu Panda 3 and Angry Birds so wouldn't say it's a trend just yet.  unless Suicide Squad and Age of Extinction qualify as kids movies.

If he's under a doctor's care already, there's not usually much you can do but send thoughts and prayers to him and his family.  And to just be there for him when he asks and needs you to be there for him as his friend...
