My parents were watching Graham Norton the other night and they ate up all that Darkest Hour stuff with Gary Oldman.

 

The clip they had weirded me out though. Honestly, would it be so hard to just cast someone who looks like Churchill?

Yes he was. I forget he was even in that film, and remembering it now, he was the youngest member of the unit. His screen-time was fairly limited though, and didn't make much of an impression on me.

I felt sadly the same about Franco. If the line ends up Oldman/Chalamet/DDL/Hanks/Franco I probably agree (haven't seen DDL though), I agree. I'd go Kayuula/Tatum/Gosling/Cosmo Jarvis (no one saw this guy)/Pattinson.

I actually didn't hate Darkest Hour. Joe Wright was doin a lil directing here. Big cap on how much I can like that movie because how much an asshole Churchill was (and Gary Oldman is, but not THAT big).

no one else really stood out for me. Coolio mentioned channing tatum, I actually loved everyone in that movie. Also obligatory annual mention of Andy Serkis as an ape.

Like you said, his screentime was really really short. I think I need to rewatch Hostiles though. I liked it when I saw it at Dartmouth, and I'm sure I'll be able to spot Chalamet a lot more easier this time.
