I've watched the first three so far and am really digging it. I know @DAR has been encouraging others here to check it out.

It took me an episode or two to get into it but by third I was like this is a really good show.   Between that and Barry HBO has had a good year for its new shows.

The only talk show which doesn't talk politics in the monologue was the only one which is doing badly in the ratings and was not nominated. Jimmy Fallon's happy happy joy joy hour. His clips don't even go viral anymore.

The overall vibe of the Emmys seemed to "Eh, whatever". They went out of their way to offend no one and ended up entertaining no one. The format felt off.

the whole thing was just awkward to me. doing the nominees before the presenter came out was weird. i'd never seen the two hosts before and they were pretty lame.
