Maybe Hobbit would've been better as just two movies per the original plan although ending the first movie right after the barrel chase where they meet up with Bard like PJ said it was going to be would have been pretty anti-climactic.

But it all comes down to "i like this better".

Everybody telling me vanilla is better means shit to me if i prefer chocolate.

If you like what passes as good entertainemnt these days, good for you.

You're bothered they stopped making The Hobbit movies.

You'd rather watch a decent video game movie than Logan.

Okay fine. I can't argue with that.

But that doesn't mean there's something wrong with the industry.

I think there should be a religion based on Siri the porn star and the movie The Matrix.

But I can't expect the world to agree because these are very personal opinions.

We were talking about this the other night when we had our mini-BOT LA meet up. Three movies could've/would've worked well had they been breezy, 2-hour deals.

There's one rule when it comes to Middle-Earth movies, the longer the better. ;)

There have been plenty of great original movies this year. If you didn't like 'em and think cinema is dead, I don't know what to tell you.

Seriously. Some of you really need to look beyond the box office top 20 movies of the year.

Shit, disposable movies are making and will continue to make bank independently of Snyderverse flopping or not. Look no further than this year top 20. How many quality films can you find in there, 2? 3? 4 at most?

What are you basing that on? Only 5 of them truly didn't deserve the money they made in my book. 5 out of 20 ain't bad.

Colossal, Detroit, Baby Driver, A Cure for Wellness, A Ghost Story, Get Out, Dunkirk, It Comes at Night, Spielberg, Florida Project, Split, Okja, and Good Time are all the original movies (not based on preexisting material) in my top 25.

Some of those were smash hits and the rest pretty much flopped.

So, what do you want Hollywood to do?

Have a 25% success rate so there are four or five fewer superhero movies per year?

How does that help the industry or satisfy the billions of people who aren't you?

No, i'm not bothered they stopped making Hobbit / Middle Earth movies. Hey, i'm getting a TV show instead! ;) But even if not, i got like 20 hours worth of it, i can live with that.

Logan actually looks good. Unlike many other comic book movies. I plan to see it soon.

I have no interest in many of the content Hollywood puts out so excuse me for being a little sour...

Remember BVS had nothing going against it the weekend after and still fell 69%.

If JL can fall in the middle of MJ2 And FB and earn a 45%drop Then it’s 10day total will

alreay get it close or right at a 2x.

But what about the weeks after?

That post holiday drop is gonna be something vicious.

Not sure if serious.

I logged off here since... Thursday? I logged in about 20-30 minutes ago, and I've read at least a dozen posts by this dude just being constantly nasty and negative towards JL. Like, I get it. There is no need for your shitposting.

Isn't Split a Sequel?

I’m not saying stop franchises altogether.  I’m saying to limit them a bit and stop making them be so oversaturated in the market.  It’s prohibiting smaller, more original movies from being made because a studio would rather invest money in something like The Dark Tower or The Mummy than they would with any original script floating around in their office.
