I'm only pointing that Disney is already making moves to put it over the line. Are any of you denying this? Is that an outrageous claim? I thought even the Marvel guys were agreeing with this. What was that re-release for?

Look I don't mind the re-release. I'm just curious to see how it's going to play out in the next few weeks. If it does it with no extra weird bumps or without some kind of other re-re-release, then good job 👍

Dude, what is arguably a direct sequel to the soon to be biggest film of all time was just released. It’s run is far from over, anyone that has followed box office for some time would be capable to tell you that what you are saying is pretty much.. non-sense. Dark Phoenix come and went, Endgame is still going strong. John Wick come and it’s still holding, but it’s far below Avengers: Endgame. You are complaining that a mega blockbuster is still making money and calling its run "unnatural". Can you grasp how ridiculous this sounds?

what are legs?

It just did $4.76m from the domestic market alone in the week 11. It’s having a staggered re-release to act as a companion to Spider-Man: Far From Home in big markets for the film. Avengers: Infinity War did more $7m after a $4.098m weekend. Films don’t drop dead from movie theaters, there is an obvious demand for Avengers: Endgame and that’s why the expansion succeeded. Learn about box office legs before trying to make snark comments about them.

a lot of people who have been following the box office for a long time said Endgame would make more than 3 billion

a lot of people who have been following the box office for a long time said TFA would pass Avatar, then it ended not passing Titanic

same kind of nonsense happened with Infinity War

I'll be honest, I'm not sure who has any credibility in this field, certainly not you or me. And you're not understanding me, I'm not complaining about anything. I haven't seen anything particularly dodgy so far in this run. Like I said, I'm just curious to see how the rest of it will play out.

I certainly know more about what we are talking about more than you, pal.

Box office predicting is not about being a prophet about everything. It is about using pre-existing data to determine future patterns for new movies. Sometimes, it is accurate. Sometimes, it is not. However, as long as you provide enough supports for your arguments then they are valid.

Throwing numbers around with no base then accidentally being correct doesn't make anyone better than anyone.

Anyway, i'm not into any kinds of professionalism comparison stuff here. Re-release or not, it is still the money people pay to see the same movie. The math has already been done in the minds of Disney's execs.

@Alexdube Scott Mendelson studied about box office both academically and informally. And, you know the rest.

I don't disagree with any of this. But I'm always skeptical of people who are overconfident with their predictions, since these people often end up getting it wrong. I don't pretend to know the outcome of this run for sure, but clearly some people do. Let's see if they are right this time.

If 'Avengers: Endgame' Tops 'Avatar,' You Can Thank Or Blame China (Box Office)

Scott is already preparing for Endgame passing.

Again, those are different personal takes on a certain matter. There are pessimists, and optimists. These kinds of arguments will go on forever unless we learn how to accept others' views.

Who the hell thought Aladdin is coming for 1B? Me, from the beginning of the year. Wick 3 over 300M? Me.

We always see what we want see only. I can pull the same narrative about overly pessimists too.

I hate this bullshit point about how all Marvel fans said $3 billion+ was totally happening. A lot thought it could with great holds, and saw that as a decent possibility after opening weekend due to superb reception. This is an anomaly of a run, how were we supposed to know how it was going to hold after that gargantuan opening? Only idiot fanboys said it was locked. Yes, many said $3 billion COULD happen, but it wasn’t this parade of "$3 billion confirmed, it’s a lock!" like some people are trying to make it out to be. Many got excited about the possibility in the uncharted territory that was Endgame’s opening and first couple spillover weekdays.  Endgame long ago passed Avatar’s worldwide tickets sold, and would have already passed this total if it weren’t for gutter trash exchange rates. Last year’s already shit exchange rates got their legs chopped off at the knees. Give Endgame the exchange rate of Avatar in one major foreign market and it would pass up Avatar.

I just wanted to see the Marvel fanboys humbled a little bit.

Funny, Cameron fanboys talking about humbling :hahaha:

You got people like Jimbo who makes fun of non-cameron movies and makes unrealistic predictions for a movie which will be out in only God knows when.

But you know what marvel fanboys need humbling :Gaga:
