Females repped 69% of the crowd for Ocean’s 8,  which outnumbers the size of the females that turned out for the recent Clooney-Pitt-Damon pics at 55%. Those over 25 numbered 69% giving it a B, while those under at 31% enjoyed Ocean’s 8 with an A-. Of the 11% under 18 crowd who showed, they loved Ocean’s 8 with a solid A.

Hereditary was fantastic. Oceans 8 doing about what I expected. Not sure why so many people here thought it was going to be this super break out (unless a OW in the 40 range is considered breaking out). Not with Incredibles 2 and Jurassic World right on the horizon.

OW in 40s should be expected range, Oceans 11 even adjusts to 293m

unless it was awful 200m should have been the goal domestic

Is there a reason A24 doesn't put out more audience friendly horror movies?

The competition from the blumhouse, screengem, well a lot of people is quite big in that space (and they get really big marketing push), it is probably easier to compete in the nicher space they are in.

That's what I guessed. Some here said it was breaking out for sure? But I didn't see the signs beyond that. Maybe it will do better tomorrow.

I thought to have the type of numbers some were predicting it would need to do a lot better than what it's doing on RT

200M with what is coming for competition is a bit high imo, specially for just a mediocre movie and above.

1 Ocean's Eleven WB $293,804,700 3,075 $61,672,700 3,075 12/7/01
2 Ocean's Twelve WB $183,895,600 3,290 $57,752,800 3,290 12/10/04
3 Ocean's Thirteen WB $155,979,300 3,565 $48,107,800 3,565 6/8/07

Adjusted for actual inflation OW

Ocean 11: 54m

Ocean 12: 52m

Ocean 13: 44m

Only the first one did it above 200m for adjusted for ticket price inflation and adjusted for actual inflation it would have still took a 4.0x multi with a 50m OW to reach that from a movie not trying to be 4 quadrant, that is a lot. Something even A quiet place will not do.

140m feel like a clear giant success bar for this, doubling your budget domestic alone being obviously great, but also it get close to Ocean 12, 165m adjusted for inflation and make it the same as the Ocean 13 141m adjusted for inflation.

This is slightly off-topic but since this is the trailers week I went back and looked at how some of the older trailers were doing. Mary Poppins official trailer has 6.8 million views and Alita:Battle Angel has 7.7 million. Both of these are December movies so they have all the time in the world but Mary Poppins views seem a bit low for a highly anticipated Disney movie.

YouTube isn't only one media-platform for this type of comparison.
