Weekend Thread | Hotel 3 $44.1 Skyscraper 25.4, Ant Man’s size does matter with $28.8M

SMH dropped 49.9% in its third weekend and dealt with losing IMAX to Dunkirk (reminder that Apes never got IMAX). Ant-Man has already lost IMAX and a good portion of theater based PLFs, so maybe it can drop 47% or so next weekend?

62% decline for Ant-man.  Follows in the same footsteps as films like Homecoming and DP2.

Tbf If that would me it will have the same rebound (unlikely) it would be happy to be in their footsteps 😛

Kind of off topic, but interesting nonetheless.  A Fish Called Wanda was released 30 years ago this weekend.  It didn't go wide for another five weeks and never grossed more than 5.2 million for a weekend and yet ended up with 62.4 million.  A different time at the box office when the opening weekend wasn't nearly as important as WOM.

I see no reason why it won't rebound and have a softer drop next weekend and then develop some late legs, just like the other two did.
