Will Black Panther become only the third movie in history to ever pass 700.1, or will it fall tragically just short? Gotta wait to see how much it will increase when it gets rereleased (after it wins an Oscar next year)!😂😜
sfran43
Oh no! @IronJimbo https://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=4424&p=.htm From a yearly perspective, by the end of July, Disney was leading all studios with over $2.5 billion in domestic grosses. To put that into perspective, that's more than the next three studios (Universal, WB and Fox) combined. Speaking of Fox, on July 27 "shareholders of the Walt Disney Company and 21st Century Fox agreed to a $71.3 billion purchase plan", which means James Cameron's next four Avatar films now fall under the Disney banner along with the likes of the X-Menfranchise and other Fox-owned Marvel properties.

LonePirate
I am kind of surprised The Rock didn’t partner with Warner Bros. to buy out a Saturday matinee showing at 650 theaters across the country to push Rampage to $100M. They could promote it as community good will or some other nonsense. The Rock could pay for the up-front costs with WB reimbursing him shortly after the milestone had been reached. Or just some The Meg dual feature at the drive-in, do sound like a logical PG-13 funny monster movie affair. It is a bit surprising yes. 650k is around what 165k-220k ticket at the rebate price ? And Warner seem to fully own that movie also: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2231461/companycredits New Line Cinema (2018) (World-wide) (all media) Cannot think of a reason of why no fudge privilege on this one. MovieMan89
MI6 is +25% ahead of RN on the same day, and that added another 77m from here. So beating MI2 is starting to look like a near lock. If it stays on pace with RN holds from here, War of the Worlds will go down too. If it keeps holding even better that that, then 250+ is in play. Notable milestones for it to potentially hit: MI2's 215m for biggest MI film Bourne Supremacy's 227m for biggest non-Bond spy film War of the World's 234m for biggest Cruise film Star Trek 09's 257m for biggest TV adaptation Edited August 9, 2018 by MovieMan89
