And...that's it for Lionsgate. Technically there's a Long Shot screening, but we already have word about it, so I'm gonna call it done.

Thanks to everyone for following this, thanks to @TMP for covering WB, and super-duper thanks to @Porthos and @captainwondyfulfor giving me all those likes in the past few days.

Yawn.

I am surprised more studios are not targeting this market. They can make a “faith” based (Christian evangelical) film dirt cheap and it is almost guaranteed to make back 2-3 times its budget on opening weekend. The market for those films will watch anything if they are told it’s “faith” based. This also explains the current political leadership in the US.

It didn't. Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Captain Marvel all got pushed back ((CM got pushed back twice actually)), Spider-Man: Homecoming and Ant-Man & The Wasp had to be added afterwards, Infinity War Part 2 got changed to Endgame, and biggest of all Inhumans was just flat out cancelled.

Inhumans was not cancelled. It just didn't make the theatres. LOL

As compared to DC, at least Marvel delivered to the promise of releasing those movies they planned.

At what cost? Rushed movies (the CG at the ending of Black Panther and Captain Marvel. Being stuck with the same BTS crew for different films. An easy to replicate and adapt standardised plain look across different films and franchises).

95%+ of people that watch these movies have no idea what’s on an upcoming slate. There’s no point for it.

You're saying figures as if you know how to back it up. Where did that 95+% come from? LOL

Marvel had to pace the release. They carefully planned the dates and probably had lots of discussion to finally arrive with a proper schedule. They knew introducing Black Panther before Infinity War would attract more viewers. That's the same case with Captain Marvel. If they had released 1 or 2 movies per year, some might forget what happened to the other movies, or excitement might fade out. That's the reason why I'm so impressed with Feige and the people working for Marvel. They are freaking genius.
