Guardians of the Galaxy

August 5, 8:00 PM, 95% full

Cinemark, Valparaiso, IN

Trailers - no reactions

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cell phone

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

The Maze Runner

The Giver

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

The November Man

Into the Woods

Third time is still good. Audience was surprisingly dead for the size; I mean, they laughed a lot but not comparable to the same amount at the IMAX show. People applauded at the end though and about three-fourths stayed till the very end

Rogers Muller Theaters 18

Monster Screen

6/540 (Five people walked in right when the movie started)

Guardians of the Galaxy

Trailers

Into the Storm

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I think this is the best MCU film to date. The movie had relatable characters, great humor, great visual, and amazing soundtrack. The only thing holding the movie back has a thin storyline and mediocre villain.

3.5/5 close to a 4/5.

Lmao you got Giver instead of Interstellar. That had to be painful, Blank.

You think that's rough? On my 2nd viewing, I had Big Hero 6, Into the Woods, Dumb and Dumber To, The Maze Runner, and then a Spanish language film I've never heard of before starring Michael Imperioli.

The only trailers I actively liked were Hunger Games and Into the Woods since I hadn't seen it

It wasn't so bad though because the first time I saw Guardians I got Interstellar in glorious IMAX

(That said, WHYYYYYY NOLAN WHY)

You would hate my theater. They only show two trailers for movies coming out within a month.

...

Leave your town Snoopy. (Or go to the theaters all October)

I am avoiding the trailer. I even asked waterbottle to ban me from the Interstellar thread. the theater has good prices $7 night, $5 matinee, & $2 subcharge for what they call the Monster Screen (3 stories and 80 feet wide)  The only thing wrong with it is its sound system is weak for how big it is.

Dwan of the Planet of the Apes

August 15, 6pm, 60% full

For a German audience surprisingly strong reactions, especially to

the shooting of Caesar. Though also several "sighs" to him not being dead.

Trailer reactions

Lucy - "bullshit" was the comment of the couple sitting next to me. A couple of laughs.

Mockingjay - "Part 1 of how many?"

The Hobbit - "Ohhh" Clear favourite of the crowd.

Lucy

27th August, 8.30pm

20% full - not too bad since R16, late show, weekday, 2nd week, my theatre doesn't have best business

Mostly positive responses after the film, I heard "Pretty good", "I liked it" and "not bad". I'd give it a 6/10.

Trailers:

Inbetweeners 2 teaser - no laughs

Dracula Untold - nothing

The Equalizer - some "that looks decent"

The Maze Runner - "Another YA adaption" from one guy

Pretty poor trailers, haven't seen any Hobbit, Mockingjay, Interstellar trailers in all the films I've seen this past month.

Damn you guys get a lot of trailers. I usually get 3 - 4 and the rest of the preshow is like 20 commercial ads.

I usually get two but I went to two different theaters that I usually do not go to.  Speak of which I went to another theater to see what Dolby Atmos theater is like

Marcus Oakdale  17

Ultrascreen with Dolby Atmos

ticket $10

Trailers

Annie

The Hobbit

Dumber and Dumber To

Mockingjay

Interstellar - walk out of the theater to avoid the trailer

Big Hero 6

Guardians of the Galaxy

Enjoyable movies with great actors. Acting is solid and special effects are great.  Same grade I gave it on my first showing

3.5/5

I arrived a few minutes into the movie. It was very enjoyable and there were a few laughs throughout the movie.
