PhilipJ2001
We've done huge business on Murder On The Orient Express. Not sure how it will translate nationally but I'd be surprised if it is under £5m.

A lot probably depends on whether it's actually good or not, but this is exactly the type of film that British audiences love. Pre sales look pretty strong, I expect it'll have a pretty good OW. Maybe £5-6m. Just saw it. It’ll do great over here. It’s a solid film, beautifully made. Mid-week business will be excellent too. I haven’t seen any early figures but I’d be surprised if it’s less than £4 million.

Probably not. TFA opened to £34m in 4 days, which is simply unprecedented. There's no doubt that TLJ will have another humongous opening, but I can't imagine it'll be on quite the same scale. It doesn't have the same hype as the first SW movie in a decade. Right now I'd say more like £25-27m 4 day, £90m total. It also has to be noted that it won't come anywhere close to TFA's $180m, as ER is way lower than in December 2015. Today that require around £135m, which is almost impossible. £90m would be around the $120m mark. Of course I could be wrong and it could match TFA's crazy run. Heretic
Decent opening for Orient Express, should play quite well during the week. Paddigton 2 opens this weekend, and like the first it has critical acclaim. I see no reason why it can't match or exceed the first ones £5m OW, especially since there's been a drought of big family films for months now, basically since DM3. The market is ripe for a big family hit. Edited November 7, 2017 by Heretic

the beast
What Can We expect for Justice League Opening and Total? maybe $20m+ opening? @Heretic Edited November 11, 2017 by the beast
PhilipJ2001
Our presales for Justice League are looking awful. Running time will limit it a bit as well. Paddington this weekend is amazing though. We've sold out every show today and tomorrow is almost full as well except the last evening. Murder On The Orient Express also holding up extremely well. 5

Pre-sales are weak for a superhero blockbuster, nothing like The Avengers or proceeding Marvel instalments, or even BvS. Plus, ER is too weak for $20m. That would require £15m which is almost certainly not going to happen. It MIGHT have a £10m 3 day ($13m), but even that I'm not overly confident about. Heretic
Paddington is doing absolutely HUGE business this afternoon, there are sell outs everywhere for it. Maybe £7-8m opening, and with the amazing reviews, it could leg its way to £35m+ over the Christmas period. 4

I think £10-12m OW is likely, I wonder if people have been waiting for reactions and reviews before booking. I think like in the US, Warner Bros has already had two huge hits with Dunkirk and IT so there's a lot less pressure on JL.
