You are not ever replacing Batman. LOLOL. If Zac Snyder or Joel Schumacher can’t kill that property, nothing will. IF ANYONE was to do it, it would’ve been Iron Man.  Batman is still standing.

Superman got “replaced” due to (a) a couple of really shitty movies and (b) a generational shift.

I always viewed DC’s Trinity as A reflection of three of the biggest American mythos, both the myth itself and the lie of the myth.

Wonder Woman is the myth of liberty and justice for all.  But we all know how *that* turns out. Even just keeping it in within comics canon,  she had never been treated equally to her male counterparts.

Superman is the myth of the great American melting pot. He’s an immigrant who comes to America, Anglicizes his name and customs, and fight for “truth justice and the American way”. Due to the raise of multicultural theory when we think about immigration, that really isn’t en vogue in 2019.

And Batman is the myth of the self-made man and social mobility. It’s the idea that even if you don’t have super powers, if you work really really hard you can become the most powerful superhero in the world.  We all know that’s a lie. Bruce’s super power is he’s billionaire.

But of the three myths, it is the one that people still want to cling to the most.   Which might be why Batman is also so resilient because of that Properties ability to adapt with the cultural times.

The 1960s Batman for as goofy as we think it is today, really tapped into the 1960s counterculture.

The 1980s/1990s Batman is a Reagan nightmare of decadence and greed (at least the  Burton stuff)

And the 2000s  Batman Deals with that post 9/11 hysteria of what rights you will violate to protect the “people of Gotham”.

So as long as Batman can continue this, he’s not going anywhere.

Iron Man is nothing like Batman lol. Why would he ever replace him.

While you make great points it's still important to remember that most of the general audience does not analyse storylines and characters this way. If you were to ask someone why they liked Batman they'd reply with ”He's cool and dark and has no real powers”. That's about it.  This description fits Moon Knight as well. A successful Moon Knight movie would most definitely stunted Batmans gross. Same way Namor, if ever made, will be damaged by Aquaman.
