The internet has moved on from the CGI discourse surrounding the movie. Now it's age gap discourse time!!!!

Florence is in the right age range for the person she's playing. Cillian plays Oppenheimer over multiple decades, so it makes sense to cast an actor in the middle of that range. A lot of recent movies deal with the same actor playing 10-20 year span by using digital trickery (touchy subject in these parts), but there's low tech solutions with lighting and makeup.

But Jean Tatlock is an important person in Oppenheimer's story. Is Twitter saying Nolan should have skipped that because of "power dynamics", or cast a 45 year old actress even though the real woman died at 29?

Florence Pugh is 27. Basically a child.

It’s rated a 14A in Canada - doesn’t appear to be any male full frontal nudity in the movie.

  • Infrequent portrayals of sexual activity - breast and buttock nudity, detail
  • Infrequent breast nudity in a non-sexual context

Best Actor hopes saved! :D  But seriously, I love specificity in a ratings guide.

I agree with this. It would be different if it was let’s say Zendaya. Florence for what they are doing here it’s fine imho.

I mean...that always seemed the likely outcome in terms of what the films would be. And Oppenheimer was never gonna win the month - Dunkirk was/is the optimistic scenario. If it opens closer to 40 than 60, then I think slightly more than The Aviator.

But if Barbie opens in the 150 range, it would need epically bad legs and/or MI7 needs fantastic ones (again, taking a hit on PLFs) for it to lose...
