It looks very cheap. Surprised that Sony are releasing it because Paramount now owns Garfield.

At least the budget will be low which is smart. They know their audience is little kids who won't care about good animation.

Just like how Paw Patrol movies look like cheap trash, but it's main audience is elementary kids so whatever.

I think the most genius part of the trailer was telling pet owners their cats and dogs could be featured in the movie's campaign over the next 6 months.  Getting kids and pet owners involved in submitting videos that might show up everywhere is gonna get them invested in the film.  It's like SLOP, but with their own pets.

Give whoever came up with that campaign a promotion and raise, b/c it's another genius new way to reach GA viewers.  I see a Super Bowl ad with the 1st set of pets and then asking for more...

I’m trying to figure out which cat I want to be the star of the video if I submit one.

I've got a long hair black cat who can do the blowout hair scene like a champ:)...

I got one cat who is basically a black Garfield, another who has Garfield colors and diva attitude but is a tiny cat, another who definitely has the grey Garfield attitude down the best (she’s chunky) but is camera shy, and the fourth one likely will know something is up.

Me I will be seeing Apes or Furiosa which ever one of those two sticks to that MD weekend next year. Will say Pratt's voice fits Garfield more than it ever did Mario.

Considering there was no mention of a released date on the tweet from the oficial account, I suppose this is not releasing on Memorial's Day

It may be looking to take the opening of summer slot (the one given up by the MCU) to give it more time between Inside Out 2 and it.  I mean, this would be an easy 2nd weekend Mother's Day sell...open early in May and roll through the weeks as schools get out...

The trailer clearly states next summer.

If it can finish early enough since I doubt that KFP4 makes March, could swap spots with Ghostbusters, to benefit from Easter and the first kids movie since Wonka and Migration.

This will be the perfect way for parents to keep their little kids occupied at a theater for an afternoon, and perfect movie on dvd to babysit toddlers while adults trying to relax at home for years to come.

Zero crossover audience with adults like Mario though. Very little nostalgia appeal IMO.

I think you're getting a bit carried away suggesting this will be the next SLOP.
