Yea we're gonna drop all this non tracking stuff. That expressly means you, @excel1. Next post from you that isn't tracking related is a thread ban.    Anyone else continues, it's points.

I can’t say I’m surprised.

 

No Way Home, No Time To Die, Shang Chi and Eternals etc did this here in the UK last year. They cost at least £2 more per ticket (regardless of time or day) than every other film that came out in 2021.

I’ve decided to change what I’m going to track. There’s enough previews tracking going on here, and enough coverage that a decent enough extrapolation for Thursday can be made across the board.

 

So I will track Fridays. This will allow me to track every nationwide release, even if it doesn’t do previews. I’m going to do 14 MTC1 theaters (I added 4 more to the ones I outlined earlier this week) because quite frankly, all the other websites suck for hand counting (by comparison) and I already have a good system with using their website. 
 

I will record numbers only once, as close to 5PM Thursday prior to OW as I can. If a film doesn’t open on Friday, I’ll make the judgement call on how to track it then.

Another strong day in Salt Lake City with sales jumping 37% over the Monday figure. Of note were the Friday and Saturday counts... half of the increase took place after I went to bed. WOM from the fan screenings?

 

Here are the totals for the Cinemark Sugarhouse as of 7:00 AM MST.

 

Thursday: 316 (+55)

Friday: 324 (+50)

Saturday: 213 (+50)

 

The current multiplier for Eternals' final is 1.6.

First time adding shows that I can remember.   I'm getting more confident in a 20m true Thursday the closer we get to release.  Added the SC comp today as it's getting closer to a realistic number.  First couple of days it was pointing to 40m+ and has been creeping down.  Suicide Squad comp is still lingering around 35m so that's not really in the same realm.

Didn't seem like a good day when going through shows, but I think that is more so due to the massive number of showtimes.  All in all it still improved against the comps so I'm still happy with 20m true Thursday.

Batman: 13.73

Shang-Chi: 13.46

Black Widow: 13.09

Spider-Man: 13.05

 

My final show count run for Tuesday netted 360 shows in 358 theaters.   Wednesday is currently at 557 shows in 521 theaters.
