The Lost City, counted today at 8am EST for Friday, March 25 (13 days to go):
 

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 37 (4 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 6 (3 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 2 (2 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 0 (2 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 2 (3 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 46 (7 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 17 (3 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 110.

Up 9% since last Tuesday which is of course not really good.
Comps: Last Night in Soho (4.2M OW) had on Monday of its release week 126 sold tickets (= 9 days left for The Lost City to overtake it)

and Death on the Nile (12.9M OW) had also on Monday of its release week 198 sold tickets (again 9 days left for The Lost City to take the lead which I still think will happen).
Marry Me's (7.9M OW) final presales number was 210.
 

The Thursday sales look way better. It has so far sold 209 tickets which is already above the final (= on Thursday of its release week for Thursday) presales number of Marry Me which had 198 sold tickets back then.

I noticed that The Unbreakable Boy lost its release date next week. Was looking forward to count it :(.

Tomorrow the film will premiere at SXSW. I don't think it'll change anything too drastically tomorrow, since reactions will come out a half hour or so after I start doing sales, but it will be interesting how it trickles into the weekend.

Based on starting show count, theaters definitely don’t seem to hold that opinion. It would need to go over $76M OW for a top 5 huh?

Also all the PLF screens for the weekend Sonic 2 comes out are so far set to only play it during the day, or the last show starting at around 7:30. Assuming the last shows on those screens go to Ambulance since that's locked in for IMAX that weekend.

Same at my theater. That should dent Sonic’s opening a bit. Still think it and The Last City should’ve switched spots because Sonic has a lot of competition.

Altohugh a TOP 5 Pandemic OW is possible, I would bet against it. Most family movies in the pandemic had underwhelming opening weekends, but great legs. Top 5 Pandemic total gross is more likely IMO.
