Saw TGM for a second time today, and the movie ended in tons of sniffles and a healthy round of applause from our 75% full theater in Upstate NY. What a fucking movie!!

I think with older audience this will have strong weekdays and so good rather than mother of god 2nd weekend hold. I would be happy with anything above 60m. But let us wait until thursday before we hone in on weekend number.

The rare botched release for Bruckheimer and Bay. Borderline GOAT marketing campaign but opted to release a 3 hour film against heavy competition = severe show time limitations. That movie would have crushed the opening weekend record had it opened early December 2001. Still would have dropped like a rock, though.

So Sat, Sun and Mon acting like Saturdays? Fantastic. Wouldn't be surprised to see it come in a bit lower though as the late shows are bound to suffer compared to Sat or Sun.
