Shrek the Turd is an abomination. It managed to make Shrek unfunny. That is still one of the biggest movie crimes of this century so far.

 

Shrek 4 is really decent imo. Doesnt come close to Shrek 1 and 2, but its very enjoyable and actually has a good story, unlike the Turd.

Shrek 4 was nowhere near 1 or 2, but still much better than 3. Atleast I had lowered expectations for that one, dealing with Shrek 3 as a follow up to a sequel as brilliant as 2 was just depressing.

On a serious note probably sampling error for CS because audience score across world are poor. In India BMS is 62%. I have never seen it below 75% for a Hollywood movie.
