It's opening to at least double as much but of course, with the teen target demo, there's a certain frontloadedness implied. But If it really goes over 2mil OW I think it will beat the first one.

Sunday update: FJG2's range has been narrowed down to 2,0 - 2,1mil admissions.

FJG2 had about 2,125mil admissions, that's the best weekend of the year so far and the best 4-day weekend ever for a German production. According to insidekino.de, it's also the biggest opening ever money-wise.

Is FJG2 that bad? Because I just saw FJG yesterday at German Cinema Film Festival here in Indonesia and it was super hilarious and so much fun. It even got a big applause from the audience.

Well, it did it! FJG2 opened with a monster market share of over 83% and the biggest German opening ever money-wise! Even if we have to consider frontloadedness, the teen comedy shout safely sail past 6mil admissions total and probably 7mil like the first one.

Everything else dropped hard, family stuff a little less. Pixels has really some nice late legs, and Minions are still the nr.1 choice for families and will stay so until Inside Out opens on October 1st.

 

Next weekend: Everest and some more stuff are opening but the only interesting question is if FJG2 can do a 2nd weekend over 1mil admissions! (I think it can do it but will be close)

Everest seemd to open above 200k admissions, rather strong. Sinister2 with 90k is ok, too. Overall a good weekend!
