Wonderful weekend, and it was a close thing - nearly 4 movies with >300k admissions, I don't remember a weekend with such a wide appeal! IO with a beautiful hold (in Austria it even increased!), FJG2 crossed 6,5mil total, Martian is off to a good start (in Austria #2), but the breakout was domestic comedy "Er ist wieder da" which profited from broad media coverage. The only letdown this weekend was Pan which will desappear swiftly - nobody expected much here, anyway. With the wide appeal from holdovers, we can expect a very busy weekend once more!

 

Next weekend: Crimson Peak, Black Mass, American Ultra and A Walk in the Woods - and Hotel Transsylvania 2, which will hit both Minions and IO (Minions a bit harder but seeing that it is already at near 7mil admissions that doesn't matter much).

With the holds it's having, >3mil or even 4 are definitely in play, family stuff is always very leggy - the only question is how hard it will get hit by HT2 this weekend. Since it seems to transgress the kids-only barrier, I think 3mil are sure by now, but 4mil will be hard - nice comeback for Pixar after some mediocre releases (mediocre from the success POV of course)

Will at least double the latest Pixar releases, yes. In Austria, it's running even better and had an increase in week 2.

#2: HT2 - 450k incl. previews, very nice increase from HT1

#3: Eiwd - 360k (stays flat - the next domestic comedy blockbuster?!)
