Avatar 2 should be at about $895m through Monday domestically and through Sunday overseas. We don't have overseas estimates for Monday yet either from the studio or elsewhere, so $55m+ seems to be little more than speculation on his part.

Probably is speculation but IIRC Boxing Day is one of the strongest days OS so it could end up being fairly accurate.

Hard to tell, Christmas Day Sunday was around $50m I believe and Monday has seen big drops in some key markets for Avatar 2 like China ($10.3m -> $4m), South Korea ($7.6m -> $2.3m), and India ($3.7m -> $1.9m) due to lack of holidays/normal weekday. The UK reopened cinemas on Monday and a lot of European markets should increase, but not sure if that'll be enough for $55m+.

 

If the Fri-Sun weekend increased from estimates overseas, then that'd make it easier for $950m I suppose.

I don't think Luiz has access to numbers as well. I think he is just estimating where the numbers will be after Monday.

Indeed all. We need the domestic to hold and suprise so we can start making our wingman squirm. My theaters are packed for premium showings. So feeling this week is going to be great OS and domestic for this beautiful movie of the year.

 

1.03 billion Pandorians.

2.2b looking more likely WW

Hopefully final numbers will be 1.7-1.8 b OS

And 680-840m domestic or better.

Avatar - The Way Of Water Records Huge Second Monday

Avatar - The Way Of Water is breaking records of all Hollywood releases as it heads for a huge second week which could be in the 100 crore nett range. This will be a first for Hollywood in India.  The second Monday collected a huge 12 crore nett which is just 35% down from last Monday and is the same as the second Friday.

 

 

The film has come into its own in the second week and should keep on getting big numbers till next Monday when the drop will come as the holiday period ends. This is the perfect film to take advantage of holiday period as it catering to that multiplex audience in major centres..

 

 

The collections so far for the film are around 258 crore nett and it will become the second Hollywood film to hit the 300 crore nett mark in India which it should do over the third weekend. The film chases the 367 crore nett of Avengers Endgame and the way the film is going at the moment gives it a chance of beating that film. The collections of Avatar - The Way of Water till date are as follows.

 

First Week - 1,89,50,00,000 apprx

 

Extended Second Weekend - 69,00,00,000 apprx

 

TOTAL - 2,58,50,00,000 apprx

Not impossible at all, it seems really possible. Dom Monday is decent l, it didn't stay flat and had an increase.
