Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania — Weekend Thread | 105.5M 3-Day, 120M 4-Day

Recommended Posts

looks like another weekend where initial studio estimates are going to be way off for A2. Also the Sunday projected drop looks bit too harsh. A2 was dropping around 33-35% on normal Sundays...would be surprised if it drops 29% on a Sunday of President's Day Weekend

Who, a month or two ago, thought Way of Water would be in second place this weekend?

Its 10th weekend, and with only a 15% drop against Ant-Man (likely better with actuals, given the Sunday projection).

Ant-Man seems poised to increase with actuals, too. Saturday was strong. Any potential impacts of WOM will likely be seen most during weekdays.

Peace,

Mike

Harry Potter, Pirates, Fast and Furious, individual superhero MCU movies.

This is pretty much all of the highest grossing franchises isn't it? 😂

TFA is #7 in the franchise, JW is #4? in the franchise.

We'll living in a world where the sequels dominate the highest grossing list are we not?

Honestly grouping those titles together like that shows a complete misunderstanding of how sequels work, when peaks and diminishing returns come into play, and I don't feel like explaining it (nor clog up the weekend thread with an off-topic conversation)

Again, not the time or place for this Jimbo

any possible theories as to why A2, PIB2 are having much lighter Saturday growth this weekend than last 5 weekends ?

Friday before holiday Monday usually means more people off from work or school (though it varies by holiday). The weekend pattern is then flattened, with smaller Sat jumps and better Sun holds. Numbers are similar to MLK Saturday
