No new numbers?

Also, how is the forum so dead with a potential 50M+ opener in the making?

Creed isn't a real mega franchise like many others, and this one doesn't have Rocky. Those factors make said potential $50M opening very impressive, albeit the addition of IMAX this time around is no doubt severely inflating it, as well as Ant-Man tanking.

Zenitsu is at his best when he's asleep. Literally.

His part was the least enjoyable throughout the entire series but at least he give cool action scene while he was asleep. I know it is a classical type of "comic relief" in Japanese anime but this is still too much for me.

B+ For a bunch of three episodes stitched together to try to make a new movie? It is such a cynical cashgrab. But then again the people being scored are likely those who already knew what they are getting into.

To be fair, the last 2 episode of the series are very big-screen worthy.

Great performance by Creed. Im seeing it tonight, and, just rewatched the first one this morning to get in the mood.

We haven't really seen enough of these mid budget successful opening weekends in the last year. Generally, the only openings in this $50M or so range were things with bigger expectations that fell short (Lightyear, Dumbledore).

With Scream and John Wick both likely falling in this range, it'll be a good month for this tier of film.

$22m OD

Audience exits on Comscore/Screen Engine’s PostTrak were at a great 92% positive and very strong 80% recommend pulling in 36% Black audiences, 28% Latino and Hispanic, 23% Caucasian, and 13% Asian/other. Creed III overperformed in the East and the South, however, was strong throughout the country. Moviegoer make-up was 63% guys, 55% between 18-34 and 29% between 35-54.

With CREED III doing such numbers and SCREAM VI getting positive wom, WB must be very anxious about SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS' chances at the box office.

Warner likely doesn't give a shit. Everything's being rebooted away, and all but one of the DC movies of this year are write-offs. They're likely just dying to get started on James Gunn's Superman. The studio's going all in on The Flash anyway, and is in too much debt to advertise much else.

:ohmygod:It's even higher than the $21.5M people here were expecting! What a fantastic opening. This movie's going to have a 3-day launch bigger than the extended 5-day launches for either of the previous movies. All this without Stallone and with a first-time director at the helm. This might honestly be the best start such a director has ever had.

It's like a mini march 2017 where four movies opened over $40 million (Beauty and the Beast, Logan, Lego Batman and Kong) Depends on Shazam for this to tie it.
