Hahahaha uh oh

FWIW, I look at a much smaller and more localized sample than you (6 theaters, all in southwest BC) but the trends from what I'm seeing are that Evil Dead is pretty much flat from true Friday, maybe a slight increase.

Beau is Afraid is falling pretty hard; I think there was definitely a fan rush for this movie (or maybe the WOM is killing it). Not awful numbers, but I wouldn't be so confident in 3M weekend.

Mario strong but not 30M strong. Could see 25-26

Funny enough, I have 2 local theaters I track for the general idea of the number for the day, and there were about just as many sold out Mario showings this Sat. in comparison with last week's Sat.

Yeah Mario did extremely well at my AMC as well. Sub-26M would be extremely disappointing to be quite honest.

ok thought experiment: what should be considered the best movie of all time

a movie that not everyone liked but everyone considered objectively good

or a movie that everyone liked but people have objectively seen better movies

I feel The Godfather is a generic but fair nominee for this title. I don't like it personally as much as other movies, but I recognize how great it is/was.

Wait, why did you ask this? This is the weekend box office forum lmao. This seems like a r/movies post.

That Mario number seems okay, but $60 million is going to be very tricky unless it pulls off another miraculous Sunday drop. While I was expecting close to 100% increase for Saturday, +77-78% is still better than last week's increase (though last Friday probably had some residual Spring Break boost).

$25m for Mario would be fantastic and right on the upper end of norm for the time of year.

Bummer on ED though, had hoped for a small/better increase over true Friday.

ED has always been more of a hard core horror/gore fan base type movies so I'm not surprised if this is super frontloaded, especially with how much on screen child murder is in this one would turn off more casual horror fans

Fairly close.  But I was more thinking along these lines:
