I would like for people to just enjoy this for what it is but I know comparisons to TET will be inevitable and Beyhive isn't gonna like what they see if they compare the box office.

Only other releases that weekend at the moment are The Bikeriders and Silent Night, neither of which seem likely to pull an Exorcist and blink away since they're already rather niche in appeal.

All it re-affirms is that Taylor Swift is unmatched by anyone in the music industry right now, which is true.

Curious to see the ticket prices—she charged more for the live shows than Taylor, maybe she will for this too.

 

Would expect it to do something like $20-30m OW and $40-50m total, domestic.

This is going to be insufferable with the Taylor vs Beyoncé internet wars, especially when people start trying to deep dive if she can’t match the insane numbers of the Eras movie. So not ready for it. Twitter gonna be a mess. In a perfect world, both movies would do extremely similarly and we could avoid all the discourse.

if the studios are in a send everything to streaming, then reclaim the movie theater as a communal gathering place.

I predict this will have more expensive ticket prices than Swift's film, to offset potentially lower ticket sales (which might also be just as strong, if not even stronger than Swift's).

Might be moderately more expensive but if you're implying her actual ticket sales will be as strong as Taylor's then I've got some bad news for you lol

Beyoncé's core demographic isn't as active online as Swift's tho, which gives the latter a lot of online hype.

Beyoncé's ticket sales could easily surprise everyone imo.

Yeah Swifts feat is...not replicable. Even by Swift probably. Every so often the stars align and something just overperforms all previous expectations to a ludicrous amount. This year it just happened to happen three times.
